![]() This is due to differences in the way they interpret what they find, the nitty gritty of which I couldn’t describe. Given the exact same starting data, two different tools can recover a different result. In all other cases, it tends to perform worse than other tools. Disk Drill really does have a time and a place where it’s useful, and that’s when restoring damaged Time Machine volumes.
